 To help give an idea of the sizes of each of the actual ORIGINAL paintings, I'm 5'7" and I am scaled next to each painting, as per it's original size. | Calm Sea Painted at the same time as Splash, these pictures were intended (but didn't have) to be a pair.
I love the sea, the smell and sounds of the shoreline and the magical light as evening or morning comes. This 'Calm Sea' was to be still and peaceful, dreamlike in contrast to the liveliness of 'Splash' alongside. The smooth ripples of the sea were to appear to be hardly moving & the horizon distant.... almost infinite.
