 To help give an idea of the sizes of each of the actual ORIGINAL paintings, I'm 5'7" and I am scaled next to each painting, as per it's original size. | Ugliness of a Smile In the same way as 'Behind a Smile', this second picture of the same time was so named because someone affected my life in a profound way.
It seemed, to me, that the first picture turned out 'prettier' than I thought the event deserved and I had painted it 'gently' so I followed it fairly swiftly with this more strident 'Ugliness Behind a Smile' which , I felt, aptly 'cleansed' me to a degree.
Behind a smile was probably a quiet reflection, whilst its sequel was noisier & more vigorous!
